Daily Mathabhanga Published Our News for Freelance to Entrepreneur Program

Daily Mathabhanga, one of the leading regional newspapers in Bangladesh, published a report on the “Freelancer to Entrepreneur” program held in Meherpur. The opening ceremony took place on Sunday, at the District Commissioner’s (DC) conference hall, where freelancers, representatives from banks, NGOs, and members of the press attended the event.

The program was inaugurated by Md. Mahmud Hossain, District Commissioner of Meherpur. Renowned freelancer, entrepreneur, and Founder & CEO of Unique Soft, Munshi Jahangir Zinnat, delivered a significant address during the opening session.

    Highlights of the Event

In his speech, Munshi Jahangir Zinnat emphasized the importance of social recognition for freelancers who contribute significantly to Bangladesh’s foreign income through remittance.
    He stated:

“There is still a lack of social acceptance for freelancers, even though they play a crucial role in strengthening the country’s economy. While other professions enjoy respect and certification, freelancers remain unacknowledged. In this digital era, freelancing should be recognized and respected nationwide.”

He also proposed that the government introduce an official recognition or certification system for freelancers, ensuring their contribution is formally valued and respected throughout the country.

    Assurances and Government Initiatives

Responding to the proposal, DC Md. Mahmud Hossain assured that the matter would be forwarded to the Ministry of ICT and other senior government officials for consideration.
During a video conference, ICT Secretary Nazrul Islam Khan announced that:

    • Five “Freelancer to Entrepreneur” programs would be launched in every district of Bangladesh.

    • Three banks in Meherpur would participate in assisting freelancers through loan facilities to help them become entrepreneurs.

    • Government officials would also be allowed to join and support the initiative.

The conference further stressed on the importance of quality work and timely delivery in freelancing as key factors for sustainable success.

    Conclusion

The Daily Mathabhanga concluded that such events would play a vital role in popularizing freelancing across Bangladesh and transforming skilled freelancers into entrepreneurs, contributing to both local and national economic development.
