Seminar on Freelancing Held at Khulna Divisional Commissioner’s Office — With Government Employees’ Wives

A basic freelancing training seminar was recently held at the Khulna Divisional Commissioner’s Office, organized under the initiative of Khulna Divisional Commissioner Mohammad Abdus Samad. The special session was arranged for wives of government employees, aiming to inspire and empower them to explore freelancing as an alternative source of income.

The training was conducted by Munshi Jahangir Zinnat (Hirok), Chairman of Unique Soft BD, who attended as the Chief Trainer and shared his extensive experience in the freelancing industry.

    Chief Guest’s Remarks

In his inaugural address, Khulna Divisional Commissioner Mohammad Abdus Samad highlighted that freelancing can be a powerful way to reduce unemployment and create new earning opportunities for both men and women in Bangladesh.

    He stated,

“Freelancing opens a new path for economic independence and allows individuals to use their skills and intelligence productively. It not only helps families but also contributes to the nation’s economy through foreign currency earnings.”

He encouraged participants — especially the wives of government employees — to take advantage of online work opportunities to achieve financial stability and support their families from home.

    Distinguished Guests and Participants

The program was also attended by Additional Divisional Commissioner Mohammad Faruque Hossain and Khulna District Commissioner Mohammad Mostofa Kamal, who applauded the initiative and discussed the importance of digital skill development among women.

Participants included a large number of government officials’ spouses and other members of the Divisional Commissioner’s Office, who expressed great interest in learning freelancing basics and digital opportunities.

    Series of Seminars Organized

This workshop was part of a broader series of six freelancing seminars organized by the Divisional Commissioner’s Office to promote digital employment in the Khulna region. Out of the six sessions, three were held at the Divisional Commissioner’s Office, while the remaining took place at B. L. College, Khulna Government Girls College, and Khulna Public College.

During the seminar, Munshi Jahangir Zinnat (Hirok) explained how to get started in freelancing, choose suitable skills, and work on popular online platforms. His practical examples and motivational guidance received high praise from the audience.

    Background of Collaboration

The partnership between Khulna Divisional Commissioner Mohammad Abdus Samad and Unique Soft BD began in February 2015, when the Commissioner visited Unique Soft BD’s office at Amjhupi Bazar, Meherpur, during an administrative tour. Impressed by the organization’s contribution to free freelancing education, he expressed his intention to expand this initiative throughout the Khulna Division.
