Maasranga Television Published News of Unique Soft
Maasranga Television, one of Bangladesh’s leading High Definition (HD) news and entertainment channels, featured Unique Soft in a special report highlighting its success in transforming unemployed youth into skilled freelancers through free digital training.
The news aired on November 21, 2013, during the 6:00 PM evening bulletin (exact time 6:03 PM), with a total duration of 1 minute and 43 seconds. The report was produced and presented by Rasheduzzaman, Correspondent of Maasranga Television.
The segment included interviews with Munshi Jahangir Zinnat (Founder & CEO), Ashraful Alam (General Manager), and Philip Mollik (Director of Training) of Unique Soft. It covered the organization’s mission, achievements, and impact on employment in rural Bangladesh.
Highlights of the Broadcast
Maasranga Television reported that freelancing has become increasingly popular in Meherpur, largely due to Unique Soft’s initiatives in providing free professional training. Many previously unemployed individuals are now earning steady incomes and supporting their families through online work.
Interview excerpts from the segment:
Rashed (Correspondent): Why did you choose freelancing over other jobs?
Munshi Jahangir Zinnat (Founder & CEO):
“I was working in a telecommunication company when I learned about freelancing from various blogs. After realizing its potential, I left my corporate job to pursue freelancing full-time. It allows greater independence and earning potential. That’s why I returned to my village, started working from home, and began helping others do the same.”
Rashed: Why did you start offering free training?
Munshi:
“Freelancing doesn’t require formal academic qualifications. If I can guide people and show them how to work on online marketplaces, they can earn independently. Through our efforts, 33 people have already secured jobs from freelance marketplaces.”
Rashed (to Ashraful Alam, General Manager): What potential have you found in freelancing?
Ashraful:
“I’ve been freelancing for over a year now and earn a substantial income each month from global clients.”
Rashed (to Philip Mollik, Director of Training): Why did you choose freelancing?
Philip:
“I recently started freelancing in Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Although I do it part-time alongside my private job, it has already provided great results and inspired me to help others.”
Impact and Acknowledgment
Maasranga Television commended Unique Soft for its outstanding role in promoting freelancing as a sustainable career and reducing unemployment in Meherpur. The report noted that with government support or funding, the organization could expand its reach and train many more individuals across Bangladesh.
Although the video footage of the segment is not yet available, Maasranga Television’s correspondent assured that it will be shared with us soon.
