Meherpur News 24 Published Our News for Freelancer to Entrepreneur Program
Meherpur News 24, a reputed online news portal, recently published a detailed report on the “Freelancer to Entrepreneur” program inaugurated in Meherpur. On May 11, 2014, District Commissioner Md. Mahmud Hossain officially unveiled the program’s logo in the presence of government officials, reporters, and freelancers from across the district. The event also featured a video conference with ICT Ministry Secretary Nazrul Islam Khan (N. I. Khan), who addressed the attendees and discussed the importance of empowering freelancers across Bangladesh.
Highlights from the Program
During the ceremony, Munshi Jahangir Zinnat, renowned freelancer, entrepreneur, and Founder & Executive Director of Unique Soft BD, represented the freelancers of Meherpur district.
He delivered a powerful statement emphasizing the need for social recognition of freelancers, who are making significant contributions to the national economy through remittance earnings.
In his address, Munshi Jahangir Zinnat stated:
“Freelancers are playing a vital role in Bangladesh’s economy by earning valuable foreign currency through hard work and dedication. Yet, they still lack social acceptance. While many other professions, with lesser economic impact, receive widespread respect, freelancers often face ignorance and misunderstanding. As a result, many feel hesitant to introduce themselves as freelancers. In this era of digital progress, freelancing deserves to be recognized and respected as a mainstream profession.”
Government Response
District Commissioner Md. Mahmud Hossain acknowledged the significance of the proposal and assured that it would be forwarded to the ICT Ministry and other high-level officials for further consideration and implementation.
Through the video conference, ICT Secretary Nazrul Islam Khan also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to developing initiatives such as “Freelancer to Entrepreneur”, which aims to transform skilled freelancers into successful entrepreneurs, thereby strengthening both local and national economies.
Conclusion
Meherpur News 24 reported that the event marked a milestone for freelancers in Meherpur, providing them with recognition, opportunities, and encouragement from both local administration and the ICT Division.
The report concluded with optimism that such programs would help popularize freelancing as a respected profession across Bangladesh, paving the way for sustainable digital entrepreneurship.
