Seminar on Freelancing Held at Khulna Divisional Commissioner’s Office — With Union Entrepreneurs
A basic freelancing training seminar was recently held at the Khulna Divisional Commissioner’s Office, organized by Divisional Commissioner Mohammad Abdus Samad. This special session was arranged for Union Entrepreneurs (Uddoktas) from across the Khulna Division, aiming to inspire them to explore freelancing as a new avenue for economic empowerment.
The training was conducted by Munshi Jahangir Zinnat (Hirok), Chairman of Unique Soft BD, who attended as the Chief Trainer and shared his practical knowledge and experiences about succeeding in the freelancing world.
Chief Guest’s Speech
The Chief Guest, Khulna Divisional Commissioner Mohammad Abdus Samad, emphasized that freelancing offers a powerful opportunity to reduce unemployment and can open new income channels for people in both urban and rural areas.
He stated,
“Freelancing can be an effective way to earn foreign currency and strengthen our national economy. Anyone can achieve financial independence through freelancing by properly utilizing their skills and intelligence.”
He encouraged Union Entrepreneurs to act as digital change-makers in their respective localities, motivating others to take part in freelancing and benefit from the growing digital economy.
Distinguished Guests and Participants
The seminar was attended by Additional Divisional Commissioner Mohammad Faruque Hossain and Khulna District Commissioner Mohammad Mostofa Kamal, who expressed their appreciation for the program’s initiative. They highlighted how empowering entrepreneurs with freelancing knowledge can stimulate rural digital transformation and create self-employment opportunities at the community level.
Union Entrepreneurs from various Upazilas and Unions participated enthusiastically in the program, showing keen interest in learning how to start freelancing and use digital tools to expand their business and income sources.
Part of a Wider Training Initiative
This event was one of six seminars organized by the Khulna Divisional Commissioner’s Office to spread freelancing awareness throughout the region. Three of these were conducted at the Commissioner’s Office itself, while others were held at B. L. College, Khulna Government Women’s College, and Khulna Public College.
During the session, Munshi Jahangir Zinnat (Hirok) provided a step-by-step overview of freelancing — including how to create profiles, communicate with clients, and deliver professional services on global platforms. His interactive session was highly praised by participants.
Background of Collaboration
The collaboration between Divisional Commissioner Mohammad Abdus Samad and Unique Soft BD began in February 2015, when the Commissioner visited Unique Soft BD’s office at Amjhupi Bazar, Meherpur, during an administrative tour. Deeply impressed by the organization’s commitment to providing free freelancing training, he later initiated this regional-level partnership to expand the program across Khulna Division.
Empowering Entrepreneurs Through Digital Skills
Munshi Jahangir Zinnat (Hirok), a successful freelancer and founder of Unique Soft BD, has trained thousands of individuals free of cost, many of whom are now working successfully in international freelance marketplaces. His initiative continues to empower not only youth but also local entrepreneurs, women, and rural professionals through digital skill training.
He provides ongoing mentorship both in-person and online (via Skype and phone), making freelancing accessible to people regardless of location. His vision is to create a digitally skilled and economically self-reliant Bangladesh through freelancing.
