    Tiger News 24 Published Seminar News of Meherpur Shilpokola Academy Arranged by Elance-oDesk

    Tiger News 24 has published a report on the day-long freelancing workshop organized by Elance-oDesk and locally coordinated by Web Crit, held on Sunday, December 7, 2014, at the Meherpur District Shilpokola Academy auditorium. The program was chaired by Zoha Biswas, Chairman of the organizing committee.

    Distinguished Guests and Participants

    The workshop was attended by a number of distinguished guests. Motasim Billah Motu, Honorable Mayor of Meherpur Municipality, graced the event as the Chief Guest. Other notable attendees included Mazedur Rahman Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General); Nazmul Hasan Topu, Mobilizer of Elance-oDesk; and Mamunur Rashid, Chairman of Alpha Digital, who joined as Special Guests.

    Speakers and Contributions

    Prominent freelancers from Meherpur, including Munshi Jahangir Zinnat (Hirok), Enamul Haque, Simsan Mullick, Imran Hossain, Rasel Hossain, Tushar Imran, Polash, Sumon Reza, and Alamgir Hossain, shared their experiences and success stories during the seminar.

    In his inspiring speech, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) encouraged participants to overcome self-doubt and embrace self-development. He said, “You are born once — make your mark through the power of information technology. Enhance your skills and contribute to the progress of your district through digital innovation.”

    Chief Guest’s Remarks

    In his address, Mayor Motasim Billah Motu urged young people to use the internet wisely, focusing on productive opportunities rather than distractions. He emphasized that by engaging in freelancing and online services, Meherpur can progress alongside the global digital community.

    Workshop Objective and Impact

    The trainers of the workshop highlighted that freelancing offers a powerful opportunity to earn a sustainable income through digital work — but it requires dedication, skill, and continuous learning. They stressed that proper training is essential for achieving success in the global freelancing marketplace.

    The workshop was part of Elance-oDesk’s ongoing effort to empower local freelancers, raise awareness about online career opportunities, and strengthen Bangladesh’s position in the international digital economy.
