Unique Soft Donated to Tornado-Affected Families and Mosque

On October 14, 2013, at approximately 12:23 AM, a devastating tornado struck Chandbill village, severely damaging the area. The storm uprooted over 100 trees and several electric poles, leaving massive destruction in its wake. According to official records, 25–50 people were injured, with nine hospitalized at Meherpur General Hospital, and around 250–300 houses were destroyed. The Meherpur District Deputy Commissioner marked 323 families as affected. The newly built Baitun Noor Jam-e-Mosque was also extensively damaged.

In response to this disaster, Unique Soft temporarily suspended its operations for three days to coordinate relief efforts. The team collected donations from various sources, raising a total of ৳33,325 (approximately $433 USD). This fund was handed over to local leadership for distribution among affected families and to support the repair of the damaged mosque.

The initiative reflected Unique Soft’s deep social commitment and community spirit. Their humanitarian effort was widely appreciated and covered by several media outlets, including The Daily Star, New Age, and Prime News. The donation and relief work were also featured in the local daily newspaper “Matha Bhanga.”
