Unique Soft Provided Van to Rafique

Unique Soft, continuing its mission to empower underprivileged individuals, has provided a new van to Rafiqul Islam (Rafique), a poor day laborer from Chandbill village.

Rafique, approximately 54 years old, lives with his wife, two daughters, and one son. Once a hardworking van puller, he was forced to sell his only source of income—his van—to cover his wife’s medical expenses. As a result, he lost his savings and was struggling to support his family.

After reviewing his situation, Unique Soft decided to step in. In April 2013, the organization provided him a new van worth ৳12,900 (about $168) — completely free of cost and without any conditions. However, there was a moral understanding that once Rafique became financially stable and bought his own van, he would return the provided one so that it could be given to another person in need.

Recently, Rafique successfully purchased a new van and returned the previous one to Unique Soft. The van has now been handed over to Md. Rashidul Islam, another struggling individual, to help him improve his livelihood.

Though the van’s monetary value has diminished over time, its social value remains immeasurable. Each handover represents a renewed hope for a family’s better future.
